Your fire pit will develop an even rusty patina. This does not affect its use or lifespan but you can clean it up with a wire brush and rub it over with oil. • You can safely store your fire pit outside all year round. • Our cooking accessories are coated with oil to protect them before use. To remove this, heat the item over the fire. After use, wash it and rub over a little cooking oil. • Do not leave children unsupervised around your lit fire pit – the steel will get very hot. • Wear protective gloves when handling BBQ racks etc. • Use well-seasoned dry logs to reduce smoke. • Make your fire at least half an hour before you want to sit round it and ideally one hour before you want to cook. If you are in a hurry, separate the logs and add charcoal. • Always cook over embers – push the logs to one side if needed. Our Swing Arm BBQ Rack is not designed to be left over intense direct flames. • After cooking, remove the BBQ rack, load more logs and enjoy the warmth of the fire.
