Good table and easy to assemble. Nice that it comes with feet to protect the floor. My main gripe is that these chairs were packed with lots of polystyrene packaging, which I have been left to dispose off. Most of the polystyrene sheets don't fit in a residential black bin and have to be broken down. Releasing lots of polystyrene balls everywhere and a pain to clean up. With everything we know about plastic waste and the affect it has on the environment, why not use cardboard packaging? Easily recyclable and more environmental friendly.

The leggs are too long. It's so badly engineered that the legs do not tighten against the corner brace without cracking them

My experience with the purchase of a “Painswick Cotswold Cream 152cm Farmhouse Table” has not been a good one. The first table arrived here in damaged condition with part of the frame broken. It proved impossible to be supplied with the broken part, so that it could be fixed with a minimum of fuss but apparently no parts are kept in the warehouse, so this option had to be ruled out. A replacement table was ordered and delivered as agreed but this table also turned out to be damaged by having two nicks in the table frame. As there were two corresponding holes in the outer carton, it would seem logical to conclude that the carton had collided with a forklift truck at some stage. In addition, I have had to tighten half of the screws connecting the table frame to the table top and found two of these screws missing (one hole without a screw and nothing where a hole and a screw should have been). It also looks as if the replacement table has been used before as the tabletop is distinctly “dirty”, compared with the table top of the first table (which looked nicely polished). By the way, it is worthy of note that the replacement table reportedly had been subject to a special quality control check. At this point, I did not have the energy to go through a replacement process yet again and as the two nicks are not visible, I have accepted the table as such. However, I do have concerns about your quality control system that allowed two tables to be delivered, neither of which were in perfect condition. I have reported these findings to Cotswold Company Support on 16 August, complete with photographs, but have not had a response so far.
