Very pleased with the quality and the price. However, all the advertising, descriptions, etc seemed to indicate that this product was made locally, so it was extremely disappointing to discover that it was actually made in China. Surely we have plenty of craftsmen in our own country capable of producing products like this. I have marked the value down to three stars because anything made in China deserves no more, as they are sold for virtually nothing. I will probably not be purchasing anything from this company again.
Dear Michael, Thank you for taking the time to review our products/service. With regards to the item's manufacture, we have no workshops in the UK, we own a factory in China where a majority of our furniture is made. All employees work exclusively for The Cotswold Company. All wood sourced is from sustainable forests and we are heavily bound under the EU995 timber regulations. The majority of our items are assembled exclusively for The Cotswold Company and finished to our own standards using traditional cabinet making methods. Every piece is inspected by our own quality assurance team. No corners are cut ever in producing and supplying top quality in-house designed products from sustainable materials using our own hand crafted techniques in workshops we ensure are maintained to Western standards. With regards to craftsmen in the UK, we would love to supply products only made in the UK but have found that customers are unwilling to pay three times more than our current prices for the exact same products. Gaining the 9 drawer chest has been marvellous! It enables me to put things away by size, so easier to find when needed. Also a good colour match and goes well with the wood floor and glass block wall.

Arrived on time and well packed. Initial impressions when I unpacked the item were very goof. Nice build quality - it would have got 4 or 5 stars apart from 1 irritating thing: when I put something in the drawers, I found them virtually impossble to open and close. Got round it by putting some grease on the runners. Not sure if thats ideal, or whether I'll have to remove it later, but there's not much point to a set of drawers that you cannot open and close!
