It’s always a positive thing to take a moment and admire people that are truly experts in their trade. A person or company that understands their profession inside and out and who pushes to exceed expectations on every level of their products and service. Those qualities are very dear to our heart, so we’d like to take a time, every so often, to champion pioneers of a craft or an artisan maker who, like us, are inspired by the Cotswolds.
This week our taste buds have lured us towards a wonderful Cotswold company who are passionate about the joys of fromage…
The Cotswold Cheese Company we salute you!
It’s a simple motto, but one we would find incredibly easy to live by. And why not, we’re generally pretty darn happy when consuming any kind of cheese. The Cotswold Cheese Company has 3 stores in the Cotswolds but if you can’t get over to visit them, their online store is easy to navigate, so you can still enjoy their range of 80 different artisan and farmhouse cheeses from the comfort of your home. The Cotswold Cheese Company’s range focuses on quality producers local to the Cotswolds, followed by British territorial cheeses such as Cheshires, Lancashires, Caerphilly etc. They also supply a range of high-quality French, Spanish & Italian cheeses, all selected by their cheesy experts!
Drawn in by their beautiful mousey branding and charming packaging, we decided to treat our head office team to a selection of Cotswoldy produce by creating our very own bespoke hamper. Judging by how quickly it was all consumed, I can confirm that each element was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone!
In addition to the cheese, their stores also sell a wide range of cheese accompaniments and other deli essentials, such as local breads, biscuits & crackers for cheese, chutneys & local potted meats and pâtés. All of these are available in a ‘build your own’ hamper (like ours) should you wish to indulge or treat a loved one.
One of our particular favourite finds on their website is their ‘wedding cheesecake’. We think this is a touch of genius and a perfect alternative for any bride and groom who favour savoury over sweet. These stunning slabs of Double Gloucester, Délice de Bourgogne, Cornish Yarg, St Oswald and St Eadburgha, all stack together to make a beautifully tasty centrepiece. The mountain of cheese is dressed on a rustic slice of oak and surrounded by fruits and sprigs of flowers…perfect for a country wedding.
If you’re as enchanted as we are by this loveable brand find out more about them via their website; The Cotswold Cheese Company.
