Following on from our blog post earlier this year, titled 12 Real Country Homes for Interiors Inspiration in 2019, we wanted to put together more of a summer-inspired version that paid homage to the outside just as much as the inside. We all have a picture of our perfect house. Whether it’s one with roses or wisteria growing up the front, a beautifully painted sage green stable door or a flower-lined garden path leading to its entrance, it’s always nice to feel inspired by real homes too. Houses, both big and small, that we can look at and admire to help inspire our own homes.
To inspire you for the summer months ahead then, we’ve put together a small collection of eight stunning houses – all with a cottage feel and equally beautiful gardens accompanying them – that are real homes you can follow on Instagram.
As always, it’s no easy feat choosing from such an extensive pool filled with truly lovely homes, so if you have any favourites of your own, be sure to tell us below – they may well make it into the next blog post!

Situated on the Suffolk/Essex border, Rebecca’s beautiful thatched farmhouse dates back to the 17th Century. With a sprawling country garden, she explains how you can expect to find lots of “florals, old books, vintage finds, roaring fires & old oak beams” on her feed. Sounds perfect!
